The Army Wives get a surprise visit from Ann-Margret
Posted on: May 7th, 2010
Posted in: Army Wives, News & Rumors

Ann-Margret enlists in two episodes of “Army Wives,” the first airing this Sunday, and ET was on the set of the Lifetime TV series to get the cast’s take on what it was like to work with the Academy Award-nominated actress.

“She was just amazing, so much fun, so professional, so gorgeous and really great to work with as an actor,” Kim Delaney, who plays Claudia Joy Holden, tells ET.

Ann-Margret, who plays Aunt Edie, unexpectedly shows up on the base to visit her nephew Major General Michael James Holden (Brian McNamara) and his wife Claudia Joy. Claudia Joy had planned to host an annual Mother’s Day brunch for families who are missing loved ones, but when Aunt Edie comes to town unannounced, the Holdens have to change their plans.

“When you get the script and you find out who is playing the role — that is exciting. When we found out Ann-Margret was playing my Aunt Edie, everyone on the crew was, ‘Do you know who is playing your aunt?’” Brian tells ET. “She is fantastic. This is the second time I have worked with her. We did a series called ‘Four Corners’ about 10 years ago. She is just so pleasant, still so beautiful and she fit right in. We have a fantastic group here and we have a lot of fun, even though we are telling a lot of dramatic stories.”

Also on Sunday’s Mother’s Day episode, Joan (Wendy Davis) is stuck overseas but that doesn’t stop Roland (Sterling K. Brown) from finding a way to make sure she feels loved and appreciated for the special day.

That means that Wendy didn’t have any scenes with Ann-Margret, but she did have the opportunity to meet her. She recalls, “She was full of life. She just fit right in with the girls. That is one of the fun things about ‘Army Wives.’ You get to meet some of your acting heroes.”

But Sterling did get a chance to work with the acting legend. He says, “I can remember watching ‘Bye Bye Birdie,’ ‘Viva Las Vegas’ or some of her other films. She was the bombshell of her time and is still so beautiful inside and out. She was such a sweet and gracious lady. She really classed up the joint around here for the seven or eight days she was with us.”

Catherine Bell: This Pregnancy Has Been Totally Different
Posted on: April 9th, 2010
Posted in: News & Rumors

Here is a lovely interview done by Celebrity Baby Scoop. She talks about Jag, Army Wives, & her family. :)

We first loved her as Lt. Colonel Sarah MacKenzie on the hit TV show JAG. Now we’re watching Catherine Bell portray Denise Sherwood on the Lifetime TV series Army Wives. Mom to 6 1/2-year-old daughter Gemma, Catherine is now expecting her second child – a boy! – with husband Adam Beason in late Summer.

Catherine opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about being “exhausted” during her second pregnancy, how Gemma can’t wait to be a big sister, and the possibility of her pregnancy being written into the Army Wives script.

CBS: Congratulations on your second pregnancy! How are you feeling? Has your second pregnancy been the same as your first?

CB: “No, my second pregnancy has not been the same as the first. The first time I barely felt pregnant with my daughter Gemma. This time I’ve been so exhausted! I also had about a month of nausea, which was not fun but it’s getting a bit better and aside from that, I am doing great.”

CBS: You are expecting a boy this time! Are you excited? Do you have any names picked out?

CB: “I am SO excited! After the baby boy is born, I will have one of each sex. How perfect is that?! Gemma wanted a sister at first but now she’s excited about having a brother and being able to stay the only and favorite girl forever! Right now we don’t have any names picked out yet.”

CBS: Your first child, daughter Gemma, is 6 1/2-years-old. Did you plan on having such a sizeable age-gap between your children?

CB: “It wasn’t really a plan. I always knew I wanted two children but we enjoyed Gemma so much and the ease of having only one with my travel and work schedule was really nice.

When we decided to have a second child we had to get over the hurdle of ‘she’s so big and independent now, do we really want to start over with diapers just when she’s carrying her own backpack, cleaning up her mess, sleeping through the night,’ etc. The final answer was: absolutely!”
